ignition problems on ts 640

what would cause ignition coil and lighting coil to go at same time is there any testing i can do so that i do not have the same problem again

Not normal but the only test you can do is a resistance check useing a service manual.

performed resistance test both parts listed failed is there a way that somthing could have grounded out cause this to occur

its the charging part of the coil for the battery
