Except for 2005! I remember reading a few threads on the old watercraftracing.co board that was around for years. Prior to the 99 Shark demise, the threads mentioned Shark would stop production in August of 99 until cleaner engines became available to them. Tigershark management felt that the cost of hassling with the Enviro radicals sucked too much profit out of a 10,000 unit per year PWC company. It cut into any available R&D money, which as the smallest and newest maker, was even more important.

There was also rumor that thay had to shut down because of copyright designs. Something about tigershark copying someone's hull. Supposedly it was for 5 years they had to leave the field. Never heard if this was really true or not.
