Help Please

I have 2 TS daytona 1000's one of them the starter spins but if you jump it it will start and will run all day, but if you let it sit for a couple of days it will do the same thing. The other one was running fine and then just stoped. it sounds like a drill going through woo when trying to start it. I bought a complete top end rebuild kit for both to redo this winter, do you think that a top end rebuild will fix the seized one? Thanks Matt

When you say jump do you mean you jump it off with another battery? If so that one may just need a new battery. On a 1000 get a YTX20HL-BS from Yuasa. It will have more power than the YB16CL-B.

The other one you will have to tear down and see what is going on. First remove the cevers so you can turn the driveshaft over by hand with the plugs out. If it is not smooth pull the pump and try again to see if the problem is in the pump or engine.

If it is smooth then it may be a broken starter bendix or starter that makes all the noise.
