  • Tigershark Monte Carlo slows down

I have a 1995 Tigershark Monte Carlo 640 that has not been on the water in two years. It has been run about every six months and had plenty of Stay-Bil added to the gas.

Took it on the water and its about 8 miles per hour slower than it used to be. It runs about 35 and it used to run at 45.

It has new plugs, fresh gas, etc. It has been awhile since the jet fluid has been changed. Its hard to get these serviced, it was about 5 years ago that the fluid was added. I need to know where the drain and add plugs are and what kind of lubricant it takes.

    Thanks.

35 compared to 45, if this happened suddenly, meaning since the last time it was on water, and you didn't run it on land too much to create wear at the prop, then your carbs are in need of rebuilding. Even though you say you totally cared for them, is there a chance that the diaghrams inside the carbs are 10 years old?
