97 tigershark montego engine swap

my oiler quit working on my engine and i burnt the engine up. i had almost decided to rebuild the engine until i found out it is almost as cheap to replace with a rebuilt from sbt. my question is. can i install a 770 in my montego that had a 640 with no extra parts or gaskets.

NO!!!

Everthing is different on the 770 from the 640.

thanks for the info. i thought it was worth a try to ask before buying an engine..

Not a lot to do on a montego unless you still have the aluminum impeller and wear ring. If so get the stainless units and you will gain 3-5mph.
