  • What Kind of Carb?

I'm going to buy a tigershark this saturday... guy says he think it's a 1996 and has a single carb. I assume it probably has a 640 engine...not familiar with them. Says it "just needs a carbureator"... I was just wondering if the mikuni carbureator on a waverunner would be the same? Someone tell me what, if anything I'd have to change to swap over a 44mm to a tigershark ????
    Thanks guys...

    Re: What Kind of Carb?

A 96' should have a SBN I body carb. A yamaha carb wont be the I body and you would need studs to make it work with the intake manifold and you may also need to swap the control arms from the OEM carb so it will align with it.

I may have one here so if you have problems email me.

All tigersharks used regular SBNs, no I bodies.

Yes that is how they are described, but that doesn't mean I body kits. The only skis that use I bodies are Sea-Doo 951's, and Yamaha 800 & 1200pvs.

watch out for this.... I bet he pulled the carb for another ski, but perhaps this ski is dead..... You should do a compression check before buying this ski. You obviously cannot test ride, but calculate for it as much as possible. Deffinately check compression before buying!!!
