  • 770 cylinder/barrel honing

    HI,
I'm about to buy a s/h cylinder/barrel for the 770 daytona, and i was wondering if it would need "honing" (think thats how ya spell it!)?

    Fitting the new barrels:
Would i need to buy a "top end rebuild" to go with the barrels - seller says barrels are standard size.

I may be wrong, but i think i remember reading some place that cylinders need to be honed to the new barrels? is that right?

Sorry for the n00b questions... trying to learn:emoticont

    Thanks

P.s. I have a closeup picture of the inside of the barrel if that would help!

Cylinders are plated so only hone them a very little to let the rings seat.
