  • monte carlo 1000 crankcase, bendix, and cylinder head

hey, i have a few questions about a 97 tigershark monte carlo 1000 before i start a rebuild on the motor. first off, the crank case suffered some corrosion from a salt water leak, but only in the counterbalance recesses. is it OK to run it with the metal pitted? next, the bendix supplied with the ski has 23 teeth on the flywheel side, but i have seen sites advertising 19 tooth bendixes for this ski. the previous owner mentioned something about rough starting, which bendix is correct? and lastly, does anyone have a good new or used cylinder head from this ski? one of mine was severely pitted and corroded and i am afraid to try using it. thanks!

    See http://www.pwctoday.com/classifieds/ for used parts.

The 23 tooth is the only one that fite the 900, 1000 and 1100 - the 19 doesn't even go in.

Do not use the counter balancer in the 900, 1000 or 1100. This was an engineering update fro Articat several years ago.
