  • Daytona overheating HELP!

I have been testing a 97 Daytona 1000, and have run into a problem with the engine overheating within minutes of it's first launch. I took the ski home and started down the checklist of why the ski would overheat. I hooked a garden hose to the water cooling inlet and have been able to verify that the water inlet is clear, the filter is clear, the water comes into the engine block and on the last rubber hose that connects the engine water outlet to the exhaust manifold, the water gets backed up to the point of the hose blowing up like a balloon. I've attached the diagram from the manual that shows the flow of water.

On the 1000cc engine, does anyone know what would be keeping the water from exiting through the manifold and or exhaust pipe??

The manifold might be plugged with salt or sand, remove it and look in side the passages.
