Re: 97 GP1200 - Fuel Indicator Not Accurate

This is a very common problem....every gp1200 I know has the quage broke...the electronics are always fine...the float has a small hole in it that occurs from wear....replace the float....otherwise you are wating your time and will be doing this again....I am not sure where you can buy the floats from now...anyone know???? Dealer will want to sell you the whole frickin piece at $140. Don't waste your money!

It could be a bad fuel switch. Take the return line and feed lines off the carbs and while switched to the on position blow down the return line fuel should come out the feed line. Do the same for the reserve position. If it checks ok then presure test the tank and lines and look for an air leak in the supply line or switch. If ok then the problem is in the carbs / fuel pump if they are not getting fuel.
