hi, can't tell ya bout the fxho, but i can on the 02 fx140. out of the box mine did perhaps 49-50 mph. top speed of 51 on a good day with a low tank of fuel. put a couple of mods ontoit. riva high flow air filter, ppk, 12-19 sb impeller. now gettin 55 out of it with a lot better hole shot and on a good day low 56's. all speed readings done with a gps, not speedo. ps, a good day is when temp is 65-75 and low humidity, low wind, and a low tank of fuel. have a great day. jim

Changes were made from 02 to 04, they are apples and oranges.

Thanks for replies. coz im looking to get one of those ski. Its a $700 dif from fx140 to 140 HO. What should I get? any suggestions would be great. Thanks Rick

tech support, was wondering what changes were made between the 02 and the 04 fx140. only difference i'm aware of is that the 04 is heavier by 20 or so pounds. i would like to get educated. thanks, jim

I'm not 100% sure but definitely some pump changes and probably some hull changes. Our 2002 compared to my 2004 is day and night both in accelleration and top-speed. Web reports show the same thing along with magazine radar reports. I also know the seat is more comfortable and they finally added foam support under the handlebar pad so it's not a floppy collapseable mess.

Just like yours Jim, our 2002 did 51-52. My stock 2004 does 57 on a low tank, 56 full.

thanks, ts. that was fast. now ya got me going. wondering what the diff. is in the pump's and the hull. that's a lot of speed diff. between the 02 & 04.

I have a FX 140 and I've clocked mine at about 58 mph.

Both of my 2003 FX140's run about 57 mph using the dreamometer

the top speed on 03 fx is 57, what is your rpm ? is the fx stock? i get 54-55 with a impros impeller 12/19 & a pump plug kit but i weigh about 280 . going to have my nephew wot it he is about 175 ,it is an 02 fx.
