I was wondering since the stator is what causes the spark to occur and the coil is what amplifies it's intensity; then if all three plugs on a GP 1200 has spark that's just there/barely there, what's the chance of all three coils going bad? I've already tried another CDI, any other common culprits? Thanks.

Re: Spark's Intensity
Try triming you'r plug wires a little.
Make sure all components have a good ground.
Service manual tells you how to test stator, pulser coils, plug wires, coilsand caps.
Its easy.
If you dont have a book I can help you with information.
Try triming plug wires first you may get lucky.

Re: Spark's Intensity
Yeah, I tested the stator's resistances IAW the manual, all checked good, according to the dealership's techs (if you wanna call 'em that) that isn't a 100% accurate check. But I'll try trimming the wires. Can they be trimmed on both ends? Or just the plug end?

Re: Spark's Intensity
Trim the plug end.
I have seen a stator thet would check good and then check bad.
It would be good and then go bad and seemed to be worse the hotter it was.
Must have been a intermitent short or a bad ground.
You may want to test it again.
I replaced it due to my flywheel falling of and trashing the oil pump flywheel pulser coils and stator.
Previos owner had welded the flywheel to the crank.
That was my introduction to SBT.
Good luck electrical problems are not always as obvious as mechanical ones.
