  • 00' GP1200R over-heat warning?

I have a customer that has two bone stock gp1200R's that is having problems with one.

He will ride it for 10-15 min at different speeds then the warning indicator will come on and say over-heat. Is this caused by the catalytic converter being cloged or could it be a defective sensor?

The only sensors I see are on the pipe on this model is this correct?

I have checked the impeller and pump area and all lines are clear.

If it is the CAT then if I remove it and install a D plate are there any other mods that have to be done at that time to have it work properly?

    Thanks
    Dan K

if you remove the catcone you will need this part
    http://www.rivayamaha.com/RivaStore/...0Sensor%20Chip
it takes all of 30 secs to install and its a must have.
    good luck

Which gaskets will I need to order when removeing the CAT and installing the D Plate?

And should I also get the free flow exhaust kit at the same time? RY1620

while your on the subject i need some help. I have a 200o gp1200r. Saturday i was riding and a warning light cam on. I don't know what it is. It looks like a chevy bowtie with 3 squiggly lines above it......

Also, i had been sitting and started to go, under partial throttle it bogged down and quit running. Upon trying to restart it would not fire unless i had full choke on. once it fired it ran fine for a while and then did it all over.

What is that warning light for for starters?
