  • Scat-trak D-pump impellar install....the saga continues

    Since finding out that my impellar base was bottoming out against the stator after scat-trak replaced the bearings, I have decided to fix it myself. It would cost me quite a bit to send it back to scat trak so we removed the rear cone and started doing some checking. The problem I believe is the bearings did not get pressed all the way in. Instead of trying to press on the bearings I have decided to use a stainless shim. My question is this: For those of you that have ran a scat-trak magnum pump, what would you reccomend setting up the impellar blade to stator vein clearance at? I am thinking .100 to start with. Does this sound ok?
