I have a yamaha 701cc eng ran fine then it died checked compression one cyc had low or very little compression check thought i had hole in piston check but no hole.But i did find that i had one broke reed would this cause my problem with no or low compression?

No, reeds have nothing to do with compression. The only things that effect compression are the pistons/rings, cylinders walls, head and head gasket.SBT Tech Support is here to help with your problems.

Your piston/crank came apart breaking the reed in the process. 701 come with the steel reeds, and dont mix well with other steel/aluminum parts.
Take off the head and you should see the damage. My best advice is go with a SBT and get a one year warrenty that will give you piece of mind.Comment
