1997 Yamaha Waverunner starting problems

I have a 1997 Yamaha Waverunner. After the engine is warmed up and shut off it will not start. After it sits a while it will start fine. It seems like it is kind of random. Sometimes it will start, sometimes nothing. It has a new battery. I was wondering if it could be the starter relay switch. Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks, Dan

Could be the starter also. Once it get's hot...? The relays always go bad and that's the cheapest and easiest to check.

When button is pushed, do you hear solonoid clicking? If not, check fuse and fuse holder. Also check battery connections. Use a socket to tighten battery connections.
