  • Need help with 2000 GP1200r.

Hello. I bought a 2000 GPR a few weeks ago. It had 24.2 hrs. on it. I replaced the display due to it having condensation in it (the price reflected the need for it). Also the guy had the beeper unplugged. I figured it was just because it was annoying. I don't think he was trying to hide anything. I know that compression guages vary a lot, but when I bought it, I was looking for consistency in the cylinders. On my compression guage, all three cylinders were 110 psi. Today, I finally took it out for a ride and the oil light was flashing. I ran it very little and put it back on the trailer. I was expecting blue smoke, but it was more of a grey color. I know it isn't low on oil because I put a gallon of yamalube in it. I brought it back home and checked the compression again, and it is the same. 110 psi. That is where it stands now. Any suggestions?

    Thanks, Don

Replace the oil sending unit in the tank.

Is that a common thing? Is the smoke usually greyish white? Thanks for your reply.
