  • 94 Waveraider Bogs down then speeds up or stalls

I bought this 94 Waveraider and the test drive was amazing, now it bogs all the way down then I hold the throttle at maximum, it putters and then takes off at full speed, I hate to have it keep stalling on me, I go in the Gulf of Mexico and without power, it gets real rough. At one time it was running fairly well then, bang, bang, bang from the rear, it kept moving, then the noise stopped.

What is the spark plug gap for the NGK BR8HS?

Instead of a replacement fuel filter, can I connect a Car filter.

could be the temp sensor coming due to overheating...when this happens it only allows the ski to idle...controlling the speed by making the ignition missfire..this is called limp home mode....engine produces much less heat at an idle...check all cooling lines for any sand or sea shells restricting water flow...

When I have it running fast and steady, there is no problems, just slowing down it stalls. I bought new plus and a furl filter. Someone else told me, it may have water in the tank, it was sitting outside when I bought it Tarpon Springs, and condensation may of gotten in. I have no idea how long the fuel was in the tank.

I do not have a manual for that ski, but .025" should work on the BR8HS plugs until you learn the precise recommended gap.

Use a PWC fuel filter for your ski. Yes, they are expensive at $20 a pop, but you generally only replace them once every year or so.

As far as your problem goes, I suggest that you drain and refill the fuel tank with fresh fuel, check cylinder compression, install new plugs, and report back.
