I am getting back into riding (after a 10 year delay) since I FINALLY closed on my house. :emoticonc In reading over older posts, I felt that direct answers that I couldn't find would save me hundreds (or thousands) of $ on a ski. Yamaha was the obvious choice (from growing up with a waverunner III).I want to get into IJSBA racing either in sport class or runabout. I'd also like to wave jump though. From what I read, the 97-99 GP1200 's are the best power-weight ratio, therefore the most adept for wave jumping.
What I want to know is:
1) Would moving up to a GP1200R or 1300R provide enough advantage racing to justify not getting a GP1200?
2) Are the performance advantages of a GP1200r and or 1300R that much greater than a GP1200?
3) Buying 2 skii's may be an option if I can find the right price. One for fun (jumping) and one to race. What would be the best choice in that case?
I know alot of these specs can be found, but I want to know what you guys have experienced or seen other ski's do. After all, what a paper says and how the world works are 2 different things.
Thanks,
Max
