  • 94 Vxr Pro bogging in water, not on land

Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a try and see what happens.

I have a 94 Yamaha Vxr Pro 701 that is giving me problems. It will run fine and rev clear to the redline on the trailer, but as soon as I put it in the water, It boggs down and has no power. It always fouls the rear plug while the fron one looks ok. This problem gets worse the more load the engine has on it. Especially when making sharp turns. I've replaced the coil, plugs, cleaned out the carb, and checked compression which is 150 lbs per cyl. Does anyone have any Ideas? This is my first PWC so I don't know much about these things. Thanks in advance.

My first thought is that you need to thouroughly rebuild your carb. I suspect your 'cleaning out' is not sufficient. If you haven't done so, get a rebuild kit (we have them very cheap), and go through it VERY carefully, replacing every gasket, valve and o-ring. I have a rebuild guide in the tech section you can download anytime, and you can request a hard-copy with the purchase of a rebuild kit.
