I have recently acquired a 1994 Waveblaster and do not know much about it. I took about 2 weeks and searched through your forums, have it running but have hit some road blocks. I am getting water out of the side flush hole but shouldn't it be pumping out of there at WOT like an outboard motor would (a strong solid stream)???? I think I have the rest figured out execpt a small square box with holes in it in the bottom of the engine compartment connected to a tube that leads to the propulsion system. I don't see a pump, was the pump removed or does it drain by gravity??? The ski was raced and has had some work done to it, exhaust, high compression head, jetting, oil injection removed, etc...all the usually stuff. I have rebuilt the carbs, new fuel filter, cleaned tank and put new gas and have blown out all the flush lines with air. I have replaced some of the older lines. Would it overheating cause it to run slow about 5-10MPH??? Where exactly is the water sucked up from to cool the motor when in the water??? Thanks for any help.

Re: '94 Waveblaster Overheating
Yes...the box in the bottom of the hull is your bilge, and the water is drawn by siphon...propultion...whatever.And is hooked up like this...

From that same page, you can look at how the rest of your ski is put together.
The main cooling comes up from another fitting on the pump(impellor housing),and comes through the hull, and then to motor.Between the hull and motor there will usually be a flush line tied into the cooling system.Check this fitting for restriction, and make sure you have the proper 'Y' fitting in place. If thats not the problem....Then it could be internal water jackets full of crap(sand and salt). The pisser on the side of the ski will not usually spray as hard as an outboard motor, but as long as you see some flow, you should be ok.It could also not be overheating at all,and just the sensor being bad.Does the motor feel very hot(to touch) when you notice the rpm limit change ?Visit www.pwctoday.com for techical help
