GP1200 - gas guage isn’t working ??

I recently bought a 1998 gp1200.



-Gas guage isn’t working, any tips/advice on what I can try to get it working again.

Where would be a good place to start if the gas guage isn't working?

There is a fuel level connector at the top of the fuel sending unit i would check that to make sure its connected.Then i would check the cluster gauge to make sure its connected there.Good luck keep us informed

More than likely it is the fuel sender unit (unit with a float that sticks down inside the gas tank). I've had to replace them on both my '97 and '98 GP's. Search this forum and you should find where i've posted the steps to replace.

Thanks, I will check the connectors tonight and post what I found. If wires are connected then I will pull the float when I get back from Lake Powell, leaving Friday. Will Post what I found. - Marty
