I just got an email from the sales people at Riva and thy´re saying that the stock needle and seat size for the raider 1100 38mm super bn carb. is 1.2. Is this correct?
Thank you for the info. Just out of curiousity what is the difference in bigger (1.2,1.5,2.0 etc. etc...) numbers? What does the neddle seat do?Is there a certain size for better low end?
The larger the N/S you use the LESS the pop-off pressure for any given spring rate on the lever. Generally free flowing flame arrestors work best with less pop-off pressure than is required for the higher manifold pressures generated by the stock type air box/flame arrestor used on most Yamahas. A 1.2 will deliver all the fuel that this carb/engine combination can use. a 1.5 with the stock spring will give a little better off idle transition due to somewhat less pop-off pressure, hope this helps.
