760cc vs 701cc

Are Yamaha Watercraft with the larger 760cc (64x) engines as reliable as the 701cc (62T/1996 and newer) based engines? Do both engine displacements use the same driveshaft? Besides an increase in power, what are the advantages and disadvantages of each engine in its stock form?

Generally, no the 760 is not *quite* as reliable as the 701, although it's also a great engine. There is only a 10 HP or so differnce between the two, and it has more to do with the carbs than anything else. The 760 in stock form also DRINKS gas compared to a 701.

I don't know if the different models used the same driveshafts for each.
