  • 61X and 62T Engine Differences

Are these engines and their parts interchangeable? Is one model considered better/more reliable than the other?

Quite a few differences. The port timing is different on the 61x and is more for low end power where the 62T is for higher rpm. The blasters use the 61x while the raiders use the 62T. The 62T engine also has twin carbs where as the 61x has a sinlge 44 and the 62T has dual 38's.

      Mike,

Thanks for the info... would the bottom ends be the same for both engines? When you say the porting is different, isn't that part of the cylinder design - meaning that the uppers would be different?

      Thanks again,

      Barry
