New at the game
Hey I just bought a 97 GP1200V this weekend and I have a couple of questions.First is what does the V stand for after GP1200? Next after I checked the compression I found the center cylinder low like 30lbs so I yanked the top end and found that the lower end rod bearings are dust.I got it for a good enough price that is worth repairing.Is this something that is normal for this ski or just miss treated by the last owner...? Thanks will have more later.Oh Ya this isnt a power valve motor is it? Thanks again...

V is not part of the model name, it's just GP1200. That engine is very reliable, but no one can guess over the internet what exactly caused the failure. No it is not a pv motor.SBT Tech Support is here to help with your problems.

Thank you I didnt think the it meant anything but thought I would ask. By the way things look I would say it is hours that took it out. Im just suprised the other rod bearings look great. Ok thanks again... and on with the rebuild..Comment
