does anyone know if yamaha uses a clearcoat over the base coat of paint?
After wiping the wax haze off of the vx110, the rag turns somewhat red. Any ideas?

Sounds like you are removing oxidixed paint when you polish. That used to be normal with car paints before clear coats were introduced. If your ski had clear coat the most you might get would be white or gray residue when polishing.

I hope it's not oxidized. I have only had it a week. Brand new ski. The date stamp on the motor is may 05. I know the old rule for cars was to wait 30 days prior to waxing, now most of the manufacturers use a bake system now that no longer requires the wait. Has anyone had experience in talking with the manufacturer about non-mechanical issues? I doubt the dealer will have any answers.
