Went riding my wife's 2001 xl800 this past sunday. Never has been very good out of the hole but it is a very stable ride and we have kids hanging all over us....so.
between 40 and 44 mph (indicated on speedo) throttle response was sluggish, not linear and engine speed bounces around noticably at about 6000 rpm. (never done this before) Below 40, she runs like a top and at wide open throttle (about 52mph indicated....me and two kids, and a cooler). Gas is less than one week old, yamalube...new plugs...any ideas???
