  • XL 1200 Ride Plate

I just took out my 2000 XL1200 for its first outing and found the ski very unstable at 30mph. I suspect that it is from the V shaped ride plate. Has anyone tried a flat aftermarket rideplate on this machine?
    Thanks

I believe sponsons have more affect on stability than the ride plate. There was a recall on the 99 XL1200 LTD sponsons. I replaced mine with Riva's and greatly improved the low speed stability. With the stock sponsons, at lower speeds, the ski was all over the place.

    Just a thought.:emoticoni

That is just what I am experiencing!

I'll check out the Riva Rideplate.
      Thanks!

Right, I was still thinking about rideplates but the Sponsons are on order.

          Thanks;)
