  • cooling system problem

I have a 1995 yamaha waveventure. The motor quit on me and I had to replace the large rubber exhaust hose because it melted. After replacing the hose I hooked up a water hose to the motor and all went fine. The pee tube had plenty of water running thru it. However when I put the ski in the water only smoke came out of the pee tube. What is the problem and how do I fix it? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Jim Snyder jastaxes47@msn.com

    Re: cooling system problem

your coolant intake hose is clogged with seaweed or sand, this is the tube that leads from the jet pump into the coolant system (allowing it to feed water into the engine while in water), take it off and try to blow through it, and if its clogged, blow compressed air through it, or shove a coat hanger through it. It runs on the hose fine because the hose flush comes in at a different entrance.
