  • 99' gp 1200 motor cuts out in wot when gas gets below 1/2 tank

hoping someone may have a answer to why at wot my 99' gp cuts out totally and/or loses power but will recover and regain power when i back off throttle and hit wot again. seems to happen only when gas gets below 1/2 tank and does not happen all the time. the motor is all stock, has 77hrs on it and 121 psi compression on all 3 cylinders any help or suggestions would be helpful thanks

Make sure the fuel tank check valve is working properly.

The tank should be able to hold pressure without leaks.

you can also check the fuel tube pickup unit. The tubes that pickup the fuel may be cracked at the halfway point, so when you goose it, it sucks air, and dangerously leans out your engine.
