I just picked up my cylinders today from having them bored .020 over and need to chamfer the ports what is the correct amount of chamfer ? I was thinking around .020-.030 should be ok as long as there is no sharp edges. What do you think?

Re: Port Chamfer Question
A good shop would have completed all of the chamfering before they gave the cylinders back to you...Verify their work before you try to chamfer them. Oh, and the port chamfering is measured in degrees ("°" as in angles), not in thousandths of an inch. Somewhere between 40° and 80°.Last edited by John Kubiak; 09-15-2005, 08:25 PM.John Kubiak

Re: Port Chamfer Question
I felt lucky to find someone in the North Georgia area that could even bore the cylinders , They did a good job I checked with a bore gage and everything looks good I have everything here at home to do the ports but thought I would ask the question .Thanks
