    Re: Ground spark plug wires

It's possible to short the CDI by not grounding them. That being said I have never done it, no problems. On the Yamaha you touch the plug tips to the head fire cranking.

      Re: Ground spark plug wires

The last time I checked my xl700 compression I didnīt ground the spark plug wires because I didnīt know about that. Do you think itīs possible that my CDI had some damage due to my mistake?

        I highly doubt it.

            Re: Ground spark plug wires

You can put your plugs on the wires and try to vice grip them to any piece of metal on the engine.
