After reviewing the various posts regarding Yamaha winterization, I am more confused then ever. I have done several Kawasaki winterizations in the past with no problems. Yesterday my buddy and I tried to do the Yamaha and could not even decided how to get to the carbs! Could someone provide a link to a site, or a simple list of steps to get my great '04 XLT 1200 ready for a nasty New England winter? Dealer beat me stupid for $235 last year!!

    Thanks and Best Regards,

You can't get to the carbs on that model, you can only spray some fogging oil down the plug holes. Just follow our guide - I don't know why everyone makes this so much more complicated than it is.

$235.00, MY GOD MAN. :emoticonr You can mix up a "pickle mix" and run thru the fuel system. Use some liquid fogging oil, your regular 2-stroke oil, and double amount of STABIL, run it thru the fuel system. You have just fogged your engine and reduced the chance of costly carb jobs in the spring.
