What's diferent gp1200 & gp1200x

The label under my seat has gp1200x on it. What does the "x" after the 1200 mean if it does mean anything? The previous owner of the ski told me the ski was a 1998 model, would this be right? The hull mould date label is 1998.

"X" is the year model designation for the 98 GP1200

my 99 had gp1200x.

my 98 has gp1200w. It is a late model 98 with trim tab area just like the 99.

The 97 i almost bought had gp1200V.

no big deal..just kinda interesting.

All are gp12's and the service manual is the same but there are a couple of updates since 97.
