  • one plug wet-one dry?

my old waverunner j500 started to run poorly. upon pulling the plugs tho pto one is nice brown colour the one on the mag side is black. both plug wires are firing and i got 140 psi compression on both cylinders....what gives? both cylinders are fed by one carb..while i attempted to flush it ,it became difficult to start and only started when i poured 5ml of gas down each plug hole. the tank was half full ,but i did notice some bubles in the fuel filter when i shut off the engine. fuel seems to be flowing slowly.....any advice?

Have you tried fresh plugs?? if one plug fouls, then its runs bad and might have the symptoms you are describing. Put fresh plugs in and seewhat happens. If you put fresh plugs in and it still runs bad, then swap the plug wires to the other cylinder and see if the problem switches cylinders. If so, then its an ignition problem, most likely a bad plug cap, or corrosion build up on the end of the wire where the plug screws in.

If the problem stays on the same cyl, than its a mechanical problem
