• how much can I mill my stock head 61x

I am rebuilding my blaster motor and was wondering how much you can mill safely and do I need to recut the squish or is the stock squish excessive I am running 83 mm pistons and ported cylinders at 5000' feet and up.Do I need to worry about cracking the head or cylinder on this motor with added compression?

Rather than cutting the head, try a thinner head gasket. I'm pretty sure the yami gasket is over .080, and you can get after market thiner gaskets, like .030, or .040. Have you measured the squish or compression??

the squish was .080 before I pulled it apart and compression was 125 at 8000' feet I was just considering milling about .020 off and not recutting the squish should still leave me with .060 squish which should be fine, and add some compression

        That would work fine.

125 at 8000 ft Thats cool. Sure, you can mill it down to 60 squish. But if you take it lower in elevation, you should throw some octane at it.

I had planned on it I run in Dallas a couple times a year up here I mix 100 and 91 50/50 down there I will just run 100 straight to be safe It is amazing how much power you lose with elevation If I could only run my sled at 500 ft elevation with the nitrous I would probably never come back up here!
