  • After Rebuild carb problems

I recently rebuilt my carbs on my 98 Gp1200 (replaced all gaskets, needle and seat, and cleaned everything) also did a pop off test and all three seemed good. I just finished installing a new SBT engine in the craft and this was the first time trying to start and it did start but i noticed a few things:

    1) after running it would not start without full choke(normal??)

    2) i would rev up a few times and it would be great and go right back to idle but some times it would skip the idle and shut off and one time it even rev higher after i let off of the gas

3)final question is i noticed that only on the middle carb about every 10-15secs it would drip a few drips from the circle piece(see picture) in the carb. What is that? Is it normal? should the other two carbs be doing the same?

Here is where you can send the carbs to be rebuilt, they have done a few sets for me with some performance rejeting.

I would pull the carbs off agian and check the pilot jets and look for any signs of water in them. They seam to be cloged since they wont run at idle. Also could be the fuel selector switch not allowing enoug fuel to the carbs so pressure test the fuel tank and lines for any leaks and mop it out if there is old fuel or water inside the tank.

Sounds like an assembly error somewhere. What were they poppping at?
GP carbs will dribble occasionally, normally this can be fixed with more pop off pressure.(unless there is a damaged n/s)

Is this your first carb OH? Any parts left over? (besides the stuff for 38s) Fuel check valves in correctly? What did you clean them with? Any signs of corrosion inside?
