I have only done it once. But it was not difficult. The key to making it easy is using a vacuum canister to remove the oil. The hand pumps or electric pumps are just a pain to use - and they are messy.
I can't remember the oil out quantity. The owners manual should tell you. Anyway, the important things are:
Run the engine for a few minutes first to scavenge the oil.
Suck out all that you can.
Spin off the old filter - spin on the new.
Refill with a little less oil than you removed. Run engine again. Top off oil as necessary - DO NOT overfill.
