Does anybody know if I can use NGK caps instead of the factory ones ,If so what part # would I need for a 1996 Waveraider 1100

Service manual (Genuine Yamaha) calls for 4-6000 ohm in the cap... Look for the same in the NGK line, be considerably cheaper than genuine Yamaha part.

I think the resistor is supposed to make the spark hotter I got 5k caps from NGK for $2.63 versus $33.00 (each)from Yamaha thanks for your replysComment
