Service manual (Genuine Yamaha) calls for 4-6000 ohm in the cap... Look for the same in the NGK line, be considerably cheaper than genuine Yamaha part.
Probaly go straight to plug, no resistor, do not have radio noise to worry about.***1100 Venture***
OE head mod-- by Riva Yamaha
Wiseco (+ .5mm)
True-welded crank
Riva F/A+ Jet kit
Boyeson Power reeds
Riva 1100 CDI
NGK plugs- BR8HS
R&D Aqua-Vein
Solas 14-21 Super Camber//Impros
Riva rideplate
Amsoil "AIO" @ 50:1 pre-mix, currently KLOTZ Ski-Craft
MOBIL-1 grease in the pump
Sears Diehard

Dream-meter shows 65---- GPS says 54.2 mph best, 9/14/02 @ 850 ft elevation

Hotter spark will come from higher voltage coil, and wider gap.Originally posted by caphowie:
I think the resistor is supposed to make the spark hotter
Resistor is resistance to flow, thats why the carbon impregnated wires on your car will not allow plug to fire if resistance gets to high.... coils on watercraft typically have solid wire core plug wires, then a cap with a resistance built in to reduce electrical interference.***1100 Venture***
OE head mod-- by Riva Yamaha
Wiseco (+ .5mm)
True-welded crank
Riva F/A+ Jet kit
Boyeson Power reeds
Riva 1100 CDI
NGK plugs- BR8HS
R&D Aqua-Vein
Solas 14-21 Super Camber//Impros
Riva rideplate
Amsoil "AIO" @ 50:1 pre-mix, currently KLOTZ Ski-Craft
MOBIL-1 grease in the pump
Sears Diehard

Dream-meter shows 65---- GPS says 54.2 mph best, 9/14/02 @ 850 ft elevation
