  • Need advice: 2000 GP760, thrown rod, trashed block

When I help my buddy with his WaveRunner, it's usually a discharged battery, blown fuse, or dirty carb/plugs This time was a bit more serious. Motor obviously threw a rod, took out the side of the block, crank, etc.

Is it cheaper to buy a whole new engine, or new block, crank, rod, piston & bearings? Don't think this one would qualify for a core :)

Have more experience with cars, etc., but never rebuilt an engine myself. Would be a good learning experience.

It's always cheaper to buy an assembly that part something together. email pictures of the damage to pictures@sbtontheweb.com for an estimate of core charges.
