XL 1200 LTD Overheat

Just had the 2000 XL1200 LTD out. Ran fine, end of the day, overheat warning sounded. Shut down, waited to start back up, nothing happpened.
"START" appeared in the display, but no turnover, no cranking, nothing.

Intake's clear, battery's connections are good, nothing.

Any ideas?
