  • Mikuni SBN Carbs

I bought your carb rebuild kit to refurbish the carbs on my 1999 Yamaha 1200 XL1200 Ltd. I downloaded your instructions to use as a guide. The first step is to remove the high speed and low speed screws.

My carbs do not appear to have adjustable jets. In the location of the jets I have what appears to be brass plugs. I asked three other friends to assist me, and I got three different answers, mostly which said I should drill out the brass plugs, and there will PROBABLY be an adjustable screw underneath the brass plugs.

Do I have carbs with fixed jets? Should I be drilling out the brass plugs? I can take digital photos if it would help. Please advise.

Yes, that model had plugs over the screws from the factory. Yes, just gently drill them out to get tot he screws and change the o-rings. Make sure you put them back in the same positions they are in.
