  • Pop-off pressure

Trying to go through my carbs before I put a new SBT engine in. What pop-off pressure should I set for my 44 Mikuni SBN in 99 Yamaha SUV 1200. Everything is stock including stock flame arrestor. Right now I have 1.2 needle/seat and when I put 80 psi it did not get open ?! Some one said that 20 is too low and it will dump too much fuel at idle - on other post 15 is too hi. What number should I start with?

    Thank You.

    Re: Pop-off pressure

On a stock ski, set it between 35-40.

      Re: Pop-off pressure

Would you suggest to switch to 1.5 needle/seat or 2.0?
May I buy them from SBT?

      Thank You

1.5 is stock, and no, they are dealer-only.

          Re: Pop-off pressure

Thank you for information and one last question. Do you know if I have regular SBN carbs or it is 'I' type. Is there an easy way to tell one from another?

          Thank You.

You have regular SBN. They look very different.
