xlt 800 top end speed low.

installed a sbt engine in an 03 xlt800 all went smoothly as always, lake tested it broke it in and the wot speed is 37 mph. before the new engine top speed was 55mph. the original engine clapped cause some one topped off the oil tank with 1 gal. of gas , any way, was there some adjustment on the new engine, mainly the power valves that i needed to make? thanks, whit:beer

What RPM is it hitting? No there is no adjustment needed. Most likely you need to rebuild the carbs though.
