2000 Waverunner xl 1200 no start

Hey there, I'm looking at a used ski and the symptoms are when trying to start the starter just clicks twice.
He rode it in fresh all day last summer no problem, brought it home and went to flush it out and the starter just clicked.
The battery is new according to the owner.
One Yamaha tech told me this could be siezed pistons and another said that's a common problem with that year ski and the starter or its solenoid has failed.

I ride quad and know jack about skis. What do you guys think.

I had this same problem on my 98 XL1200. We changed the starter and it will turn over from the solenoid now(which didnt before) but now the starter button doesnt work....
