Just spent the 1st day on my new waverunner. Very pleased overall except the mirrors don't appear to be adjustable. I am 6' tall, son is 5' 6" and while riding all you see is the floor and side of the boat. This sucks. I am not sure if the holes were drilled in the wrong place or if the mirrors are there for aesthetics? I'd hate to drill new holes for the mirror any other ideas? Thanks :emoticons

Re: 2007 VX Deluxe mirror adjustment
From reading other post I'd say they screwed us on the mirrors. I Bought a vx deluxe today. To put it nicely, I'm sick over the VX. Ride is rough...water sprays on you when you cross the smallest wake. Turn it deep and it pours water on the passengers feet. reverse lever is under the handle bar and hard to reach. ON the up side...it runs great....but turning 6000 RPM at 30 mph seems like it needs a different prop. Honestly I think Yamaha is asking for a lawsuit over the mirrors. They are a safety item...but with them turned toward your feet...well, thats like putting a brake light on the front of your car...somebody's guna get hurt. Anyway...next time I'll go back with seadoo...sad to say my 98 model rides and handles better than the 07 yamaha VX

Re: 2007 VX Deluxe mirror adjustment
Mirrors are not a safety item nor required. They are simply a luxury and most do not work like you expect if you a new to PWCs. Sea-Doo has the best mirror placement by far.
Your statment of 'someone is going to get hurt' because you can't use your mirrors suggest that you would benefit from taking a PWC education class. At no time should anyone be that close behind you in the first place.SBT Tech Support is here to help with your problems.

The VX is the ecconomy model - no or little frills.

No matter how you look at it - they are there simply for marketing - always have been. Yamaha never 'got it'.SBT Tech Support is here to help with your problems.

Re: 2007 VX Deluxe mirror adjustment
If they are there for marketing only then they got me. I am not sure if this is the right place but if I had known the mirrors were worthless I would have purchased two Sea Doo SE's with adjustable mirrors that work. and It would have only cost me an extra $100 per PWC. So If you want mirrors that work, don't buy the Yamaha VX!

Re: 2007 VX Deluxe mirror adjustment
Sat on it. Looked at them and assumed they were adjustable. Had Sea Doo's before all with adjustable mirrors. Yea I made an assumption. Their Marketing worked. The Mirrors don't. Other than the Mirrors it is a great PWC
