'06 VX 110 won't go more than 5000 rpm

We just got a 2006 Yamaha VX 110 and it won't go more than 5000 rpm and 20 mph.

It is unlocked and I have made sure it is not in "L" mode. The engine sounds great...got the oil filter changed....why won't it accelerate?

We just bought it and we are so frustrated!

any warning lights come on? nothing stuck in the prop?

no warning lights...nothing stuck in the intake....it seems perfect. we are going to take it to the shop tomorrow.

I dont have manual with me at this time, but if you hold the mode key for ten seconds it should go into maintenance mode, you will get some codes. I believe a 01 code means everything is good.
For lock code you need the transmiter or FOB if you lost or it has died then only the dealer or someone that has the box to program a new one to your boats security system can do it.
