i just paid $1900 for a yamaha wave venture 1100 motor its a complete motor with 81 orig hours and has around 110 psi in all cylinders. does this sound right or am i being ripped off, i bought it off of ebay ??. what should i look for when it gets here??. also is it ok to block off the oil injector and premix the gas myself so i dont have a nother melt down from oil injector malfunction, pros and cons ??? thanks

Yes you can pre mix, Any 2 stroke engine should be tested for crank case leaks before it is installed. If it has a slight air leak it will run lean and self destruct slowly.SBT Tech Support is here to help with your problems.

A venture does not have a L mode or lock.
If you mean limp mode in that the engine will only go to 3K then this is an indication of an overheating signal or possibly overheating condition.
The temp sensor will be mounted to your exhuast and will be a single wire Pink in color.
To test to see if you are in overtamp condition, removed the sensor off the exhuast two 10mm screws. Start the engine. NOTE DO NOT RUN IT FOR MORE THAN FEW MINUTES.
Check to see if you can rev it pass 3K rpm if you can then you have a overheat condition and need to address that before you use the boat.
If the system stays the same you need to see if the sensor is bad or the wire is grounded as its sending a signal to the CDI off an overheat condition.
