I just bought a new non PV for my 1999 LS 2000, I was told to remove the oil pumps from both motors and block them off with the kits I bought. My question is can I just remove the oil tank pumps and hoses? and the hoses from the block to the carbs, The pulse hoses I think they are called and I just leave them in place? and the cables that go to the oil pumps can they be removed? My breakin oil was exploded all over the new motor but from what I have read I should run about 128oz of oil the first tank and 100 oz after that being it's a 40 gal tank. I'm really having a problem with tossing the oil pumps but I guess it's best I just can't find any real good instructions as to what to block off. The gal on the phone said to toss it all but I have read others that say keep some of it so oil can dribble into the crank. Any help would be great.

Re: a little help with LS 2000 please
OK you are confusing two OEM Sea junk and Yamaha.
Sea junk uses the oil to lube the cylinder/eng via carbs and to lube cranck bearing.
Yamaha only uses it to lube the cylinders/eng via carbs.
So you need to only removed the pump, the feed hose 1/4 diameter remove it and put it back up at the top where one small hose 1/8 comes in. If you take off the rubber nipple at the top of the oil tank you will find that the main 1/4 hose will fit, just plastic ty ty it.
Also do not empty the tank so that you dont have to fix the oil tank float.
Next remove the two 10mm bolts at the pump, remove the cable that goes into the carb at the carb. At the pump remove the three 1/8 hoses and plug all three lines.
Next put your cap kit on the bendix cover were the pump usto be, walla you are done.
As far as the break in 40:1 for first tank is good and then run 50:1.
You may get others with better mix ratios but what is key to remeber is proper break in.
